But I still want to play it, so I finally bought my own copy.Īlso known as Red Riding Hood & the Lost Forest. I love otome based on classic stories, and a Phantom of the Opera otome sounded incredible! But I guess the English patch was a myth or fell through, because it's never happened. So I prefer to play the original.Īt one time, I heard an English patch for PersonA was in the works, and I was anxiously awaiting it. When the original content has been altered, it leaves gaps in the story and you can tell when stuff's been skipped over or left out. I swear.Īnd I chose to buy the original R18 versions, because I don't like when games are altered to get a different age rating. I bought them because I was really interested in the theme and characters. But believe it or not, I didn't buy these games *because* they had smut. Now it's time to introduce my R18 collection. In addition to the game, it came with a CD, character booklet, and large can badge. And since I don't know that unless I've played it, I've never bought any limited editions.īut I discovered a new, LE copy of SA7 was actually cheaper that the normal version! So, I bought it. I've never bothered to purchase any Limited Editions, because I don't want to spend the extra money unless I'm certain I'll love the game. ☆ :black_small_square: ☆ :black_small_square: ☆ And I like that it has many available characters! Since the mobage version isn't available anymore, I had to opt for the PSV version. This one caught my eye, because I discovered it was originally a mobage. So I did a little more digging and read some reviews and I think I might like it, so I gave in and bought it. However, Tengai ni Mau, Iki na Hana takes place in same setting, and it also caught my interest. But I'm worried I won't like it, so I haven't played it yet. But I've always been a *bit* interested in Hanayaka Nari, Waga Ichizoku. Tbh, I'm not a big fan of most historical games. I'm surprised I wanted to play this game. So, I'm glad I had a chance to play it, but it just confirmed what I already knew: (1) I'm not into psychopaths, and (2) I'm definitely not a masochist. I've never been interested in the DL franchise, but I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I bought the Limited V edition as soon as I heard an English patch had been released. If something catches my interest, I won't be satisfied until I play it for myself. Some of these games don't have rave reviews from Japanese players, but I've never put much stock in reviews. And I'm always on the lookout for underrated games I haven't heard much about. That's because I tend to favor less popular games. Some of you might notice a lot of well-known and popular games are missing from my collection. :relaxed:Īnyway, here is the rest of my game collection. Most of their games are long, but I make a concession for them. But I make a few exceptions if I'm really interested in the the story and characters. The length of the game also matters to me. Runs from the mob of angry players after me with pitchforks I don't need to play every route or unlock all the endings to be satisfied. As long as I get what I want from the game, then I have no regrets buying it. Typically, I only play the routes that interest me. That's why I always read about the characters on VNDB.Īnother confession.I'm not a completionist. If at least a couple of characters capture my attention, then I'm willing to play the game. So, before I decide to play a console game, I HAVE to be VERY interested in at least one or two characters. If a game has more story than romance, I'm usually disappointed. If the characters fail to interest me, then it's no deal.Īnd the same goes for the romance. I don't care how supposedly engaging and interesting the story is meant to be. Instead, I'm character-focused and romance-driven. But the story isn't the most important element for me. Sure, I appreciate a good story like most people. Step 4: See what platforms its been released on and what age rating it received on each.įirst, I'll admit.I'm probably not a typical console player. There's certain things I look for in a console game, and certain things I avoid. It might look that way, but that's not the case.Īll the games I've collected were carefully selected over time. "NerdBerd, why did you buy these particular games?"īelieve it or not, I didn't just go on a wild shopping spree and randomly buy a bunch of games. Because VNDB is my first go-to source for information about a console game. Instead, I linked each game to its page on the Visual Novel Database ( ). In this blog, for the sake of space, I didn't write detailed summaries for each game.
